Set Locale & Keyboard

Interactively, use dpkg:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

To see your locale settings...

Set Timezone

Use timedatectl. Also see ntpd for synchronizing time and keeping time accurate

List Timezones

To find the code for your timezone, list the available timezones:

>>> timedatectl list-timezones

Set Timezone

Using the timezone name from the previous step, for example if ours was America/Los_Angeles

sudo timedatectl set-timezone America/Los_Angeles
